In 2026, we widened the circle to include
children fighting cancer.

We’ve partnered with Cuddles Foundation, an organisation quietly but relentlessly fighting childhood malnutrition in young cancer patients, to support the nutrition arm of treatment across six hospitals in India.

Cancer treatment is long and demanding. A child’s body needs strength to endure it. That’s where this support goes. That’s what this chapter stands for.

How Each Child Is Supported

01
Assess
Nutritional status check

Every child is weighed, measured and screened the day they arrive at a partner hospital.

02
Customise
Diet plan + counselling

A Cuddles nutritionist writes a plan around the treatment schedule and what the child can actually eat.

03
Provide
Food aid, delivered

Nutritional supplements, in-meal snacks, tube feeds, milk tetra packs and monthly dry rations.

04
Monitor
Weekly weight-ins

Weight, tolerance, infections, appetite tracked weekly, course-corrected gently.

05
Repeat
Until cancer-free

We keep going for as long as treatment goes, not until a budget runs out. One rule.

Care That Goes Beyond Nutrition

01

Personalized Nutrition

Tailored to each child’s age, condition, and treatment stage—ensuring they get exactly what their body needs to recover.

02

Nutrition That Fits Real Life

Easy-to-consume, familiar foods that children can actually eat and enjoy, even during difficult treatment phases.

03

Support for the Whole Family

Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation—families receive food support so children aren’t recovering in hunger.

04

Consistent Daily Essentials

Reliable access to basic nutrition like milk, so caregivers can focus on care—not survival needs.

05

Emotional & Caregiver Support

Strengthening the people behind the child with counselling and support, improving overall recovery outcomes.

06

Continuous Improvement

Data-driven monitoring and learning ensure the program evolves and delivers better results every year.

Mother with child at hospital
“That day gave us strength. It gave us hope.”
— Manjula, Basavaraj’s mother

From fragile to fighting strong.

Basavaraj · 9 · Burkitt’s Lymphoma

When Basavaraj arrived at our partner hospital, he was too weak to eat. His father, a farmer, is the only earner. His mother Manjula had already lost another child years earlier. “We were terrified,” she said. “We kept thinking, will we be able to save him?”

Because of his severe thinness, the Cuddles nutritionist started him on slow, round-the-clock tube feeds. As his body adjusted, feeds became periodic. Then food by mouth. With steady supplements and in-meal snacks, his weight climbed.

Today, Basavaraj is within the well-nourished range. He is still on treatment, but he is stronger than when he first arrived and he has a plan: he wants to be an army officer.

Where the work happens

Six cities.
Six wards.
121 children.

Cuddles partners with paediatric oncology wards at government and trust hospitals. We fund the nutrition arm of that work from the first assessment through the last round of chemo.
